The highest level qualification in Funeral Celebrancy in the UK
This Level 3 Diploma is the ONLY national qualification in Funeral Celebrancy approved by Ofqual.
Ofqual is the Government’s Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation, which regulates all qualifications, exams and tests throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The awarding body, The Open College Network North East Region, has corporate recognition from Ofqual and
the corresponding organisations in Wales (DCELLS) and Northern Ireland (CCEA). The course has been placed on The Register of Regulated Qualifications, which contains details of Recognised Awarding Organisations and Regulated Qualifications.
In order to be approved by OFQUAL, qualifications need to meet stringent criteria related to exam content, delivery, assessment and reporting procedures.
The Diploma that you will undertake is broadly equivalent to the following qualifications:
- In England - any other level 3 qualification, such as GCE ‘A’ levels or ‘AS’ levels, level 3 BTEC, NVQ level 3, Level 3 Vocational Qualifications and other Advanced Diplomas
- In Wales - NVQ level 3, Vocational Qualification level 3, AS and A Level, Welsh Bacclaureate Qualification Advanced, ESW, WKS, Apprenticeship Framework
- Northern Ireland - this is equivalent to a Level 5 Certificate or Leaving Certificate
- In Scotland - the equivalent would be a Level 6 qualification, equivalent to Highers, SVQ Level 3, Professional Development Awards, National Progression Awards and National Certificates
Civil Ceremonies Ltd is a National Open College Network Recognised Learning Centre, providing training to a nationally recognised standard. In addition, the training course won a Regional National Training Award in 2008.
The training programme contains a mixture of assessment methods and is operated on a pass/fail basis. The pass rate is currently 93% and some parts of your training can be taken again.. We make no apologies for the fact that the training is challenging, there is much more involved than most people envisage. You will be assessed on every element of the distance and residential parts of the training programme.
